Critical stress factors influencing architecture students in Turkey: a structural equation modelling approach

Purpose Presently, there are two main classification of architectural courses in the curriculum: lecture and design studios. Owing to duality between studios courses, education includes a highly stressful learning environment. In addition this dualism, architecture students also cope with their lives universities different types stressors similar all university students. Therefore, study aims determine critical stress factors that affect studying Turkey. Design/methodology/approach The reasons for environment were examined using questionnaire distributed among students, face-to-face surveys conducted. obtained data analysed statistically SPSS 22 LISREL 8.7 software. Correlation analysis, exploratory confirmatory analysis structural equation modelling relationships impacts (perceived stress) performed, model was developed. Findings A total 11 affecting students’ levels determined; academic inadequacy, unusual assessments evaluation techniques intensive schedule most stressors. Based on these factors, necessary solutions recommendations offered, which expected decrease encourage other studies.
